OnlineJobs.ph TimeProof: The Employer’s Guide (How It Works & When to Use It)

You’ve hired (or you’re about to hire) a VA through OnlineJobs.ph, and someone mentioned TimeProof — the platform’s built-in time tracker. Here’s everything an employer actually needs to know, including the part most guides skip: when not to use it.

What TimeProof is

TimeProof is OnlineJobs.ph’s free time-tracking app. Your VA installs it on their computer and logs in with their OnlineJobs.ph account. While it runs, it records their working time and takes periodic screenshots — and all of it appears automatically in your employer dashboard on OnlineJobs.ph. No setup on your side, no extra cost.

How to set it up (employer side: there is no setup)

  1. Your VA downloads TimeProof from OnlineJobs.ph and logs in with their own account.
  2. They press start when they begin working for you.
  3. You log into your OnlineJobs.ph employer account → open your worker’s record → view hours, screenshots, and activity, organized by day.

That’s the entire employer workflow. If the hours aren’t showing, it’s almost always one of: the VA is logged into the wrong account, their internet dropped mid-sync, or they simply forgot to press start. Ask before assuming anything.

When TimeProof helps

The first 30 days. While trust is forming, hourly tracking plus screenshots gives both sides a shared record. New VAs often prefer it — it proves their work.

Hourly arrangements. If you pay by the hour, TimeProof is your timesheet. No disputes.

Task-based troubleshooting. If output suddenly drops, a week of TimeProof data turns a vague worry into a specific conversation.

When it backfires (the part nobody tells you)

Even OnlineJobs.ph itself will tell you not to manage by tracker: for most roles, the only measure that matters is the quality and quantity of the work delivered. Screenshot-watching your VA for months signals distrust, and your best people — the ones with options — quietly leave employers who manage that way. The strongest long-term setups I see here in the Philippines are salaried, output-based, with TimeProof retired after onboarding or kept only for hourly billing.

My suggested pattern: TimeProof during the paid test task and first month → switch to output-based salary + a short daily check-in message. You’ll keep better people longer. (How to structure that first month is exactly what the 30-day onboarding plan in my VA Hiring Toolkit covers — $27, or $17 with code SUBSCRIBER.)

TimeProof vs third-party trackers (Hubstaff, Time Doctor)

If you’re on OnlineJobs.ph, TimeProof wins on price (free) and integration (data lands in the same dashboard where you found your VA). Third-party trackers add project budgets, payroll integrations, and multi-team reporting — worth it only once you’re running several VAs across platforms.

Not on OnlineJobs.ph yet?

TimeProof comes free with the platform. If you’re still deciding where to hire, start with my honest OnlineJobs.ph review, see how it compares to Upwork, or go straight to browsing VA profiles.

Bottom line: TimeProof is a trust-building tool for the start of a working relationship, not a management style. Use it for the first month, then manage the work, not the clock.
